Chimborazo Lodge is located at 4000 meters of altitude, at the foot of the Chimborazo volcano, in the historic Totorillas Valley, and just a few steps away from the Chimborazo Fauna Production Reserve.
We are surrounded by a very privileged natural environment where we have managed to preserve the fragile ecosystem of the páramo, with its beauty, its unique species of flora and fauna, and the endemic colibrí “Estrella del Chimborazo” that inhabit it.
Lodging
We have single, double, and triple rooms, all equipped with heaters and carefully decorated with antique items related to mountaineering and climbing.
In our restaurant, Estrella del Chimborazo, we offer national and international cuisine. Breakfast and dinner are included for our guests.
Mountain Climbing
We organize ascents to the summit of Chimborazo through our mountain guides service, backed by over forty years of experience in this activity.
We have all the necessary technical equipment for climbing, ensuring safety, comfort, and excellent service to our clients.
Excursions
Around the area of Chimborazo Lodge there are many possibilities for hikes and excursions, such as the path of the “Hieleros del Chimborazo” (Chimborazo Ice Gatherers); the Royal Road and part of the Inca trail; the area of the vicullas and other sites of interest, as well as sithseeing the flora and fauna within the Reserve.

Guides
We work with professional guides for mountain climbing, naturalist guides, porters and guide assistants, professionally trained in mountain climbing.
Technical equipment
Our mountain programs include the use of fixed and team ropes; ice, rock, and snow hammers and pitons; oxygen equipment, and hyperbaric chamber.
Rental Equipment
We have crampons, ice axes, harnesses, helmets, and other accessories that our participants in mountain programs may need at any time.
Transportation
All our programs offer exclusive use of four-wheel-drive vehicles, vans, and buses for the transportation of our clients.

“Wonderful"
The property is superb. You could not have it in a better location. The cabins were great. So much paraphernalia to look at….the history of great mountain climbers. We were very lucky with perfect weather. Chimborazo was free of clouds. What a gift. Not to mention the beautiful alpacas roaming around to complete the picture. The food was excellent .

“Luxury Basecamp"
Breathtaking location! Loved seeing all the alpacas, rabbits and deer. The decor was so cool, with mountaineering memorabilia everywhere. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I have an allergy to feathers and they changed my bedding quickly. The food was very good. It’s secluded and beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

“Exceptional"
An incredible place. Have not seen anything like it. This is not just a lodge, it is a mountaineering museum. If you are in the Chimborazo area and do not stop there, it will be a big mistake. It’s great. Expensive but well worth the money. It’s a pity that we didn’t know how wonderful it is here and didn’t plan for a longer stay.
Best mountain lodge I’ve been, and I travel a lot. An absolute must-see.

“Beautiful"
What a magical place! The lodge is beautifully located on the Chimborazo, surrounded by a alpaca herd. The rooms are lovingly furnished in a themed after well-known mountaineers and have a nice modern bathroom. The houses also have a shared area with comfortable seating by the fireplace. Marco Cruz and his staff are super friendly and we had a great (vegetarian) dinner and breakfast.

“Invaluable"
For some the uniqueness of an accommodation will surely be a luxury resort on the beach. For me it is a place like the Chimborazo lodge. Being at the foot of the snow at 4000 mt altitude, surrounded by alpacas, deer…. Speechless.
